MHL, previously known as Western Heritable, was founded in 1896 by Sir John Mactaggart, Baronet of King’s Park Glasgow, Great Grandfather of the present Chairman.

Until the early 1970s, the principal activities of the company comprised the development and subsequent letting and management of residential units in Glasgow, together with the development of substantial blocks of flats in Fulham, St John’s Wood and Mayfair in London.

From the mid-1970s to the mid 2020s, the company has built an experienced, insightful team and created a substantial investment portfolio, both in the United Kingdom and the United States, including a significant number of commercial assets in London and New York.

Following a corporate restructuring, the majority of MHL’s assets are now based in the UK, with MF&P’s activity solely focused on UK transactions.
