Approach
Our long-term, real estate fundamentals based approach to acquisitions and projects, naturally cautious assumptions, and rigorous analysis of our development and asset management-intensive projects give us the ability to deliver attractive risk-adjusted returns.
In addition to real estate fundamentals, such as location, supply and demand, and the physical condition of the asset, we scrutinise planning use, structure partnerships with the best operators, and work on the capital structure of real estate opportunities.
As the cornerstone investor in their projects, the Mactaggart family ensures that Mactaggart Family & Partners’ interests are fully aligned with those of third-party investors. MHL will always be a significant equity investor in every transaction the platform undertakes and stand alongside co-investors, prioritising transparency, honesty and accountability and equity value preservation.
The Mactaggart Family & Partners Investment Committee and Advisory Board have extensive experience of investment in and the development, asset management, structuring and financing of a wide range of real estate in London, the UK, New York and the East coast of the US.
Principal activity, however, is focused on direct investment and development in the office, hotel, residential and self-storage asset classes.
As well as direct investments, the platform invests in operating businesses where a large part of the aggregate enterprise value of the company is made up by real estate.
