Hugh is a Non-Executive Director of Western Heritable and sits on the Advisory Board of Mactaggart Family & Partners.
He has more than 40 years of experience representing individuals in their business, personal, investment, estate planning, real estate and fiduciary matters. He also has a considerable art law practice that includes the representation of private and public art galleries, dealers in both the primary and secondary art markets, visual artists (both painters and sculptors) and collectors. He also has advised commercial real estate developers with respect to agreements for large-scale indoor and outdoor sculpture commissions.
Hugh’s broad-based real estate practice includes advising and representing prominent owners, developers and investors in sales, acquisitions, financings, joint ventures, real estate partnerships, development projects, syndications and conversion of properties to co-operative, condominium and homeowner association ownership forms.
Hugh is currently a member of the Board of Overseers of The Hood Museum of Art at Dartmouth College, a Trustee of The Alliance for Young Artists & Writers, Inc. and an Honorary Trustee of The Parrish Art Museum.
New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg appointed Hugh as a Director of the Brooklyn Navy Yard Development Corporation and he, also at Mayor Bloomberg’s request, served as a Commissioner of The Art Commission of the City of New York through October 2006.
